Sustainability Initiatives for Location Referencing and Condition Survey of the National and Provincial Road Network - Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Royal Government of Cambodia
The Location Referencing and Condition Survey (LRCS) was a project to precisely map the entire National and Provincial road network including compilation of geo-referenced video and roughness data of the roads. The sustainability initiatives provide ongoing training and support services to the completed LRCS project to ensure smooth handover and long-term use of the results of the project.

The Location Referencing and Condition Survey (LRCS) is a project to precisely map the entire National and Provincial road network including compilation of geo-referenced video and roughness data of the roads. The data is collected and compiled in a geodatabase at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) as a basis for a decision support system to assist the Ministry to prioritize road rehabilitation, construction and maintenance and to enable them to generate budgetary requests, estimates and reports for their activities.


Preparation of People and Environmental Atlas for the Lower Mekong River Basin - Mekong River Commission
Aruna Technology Ltd. was contracted by the Mekong River Commission (MRC) to prepare the People and Environmental Atlas of the Lower Mekong River Basin with funding from the World Wildlife Fund. The Atlas provides access for non-expert and expert users to the main datasets of the MRC as well as LandSAT imagery of the entire basin from two time periods, 1990 and 2000. Five thematic maps illustrating the various environmental and socio-economic aspects of the basin were prepared to enable users to understand and analyze the interaction between different factors. A CD-ROM was prepared for distribution able to be used on a wide variety of Windows-based operating systems including automatic installation, licensing agreements, hyperlinks, automatic GIS reader programs and database installation.

GIS Coding of Surface Water Features - United Nations Development Program (UNDP)/United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) Cambodia Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (CARERE) Project
Aruna Technology Ltd. supported the staff of the Hydrology Office of the General Directorate of Irrigation, Meteorology and Hydrology (GDIMH) to upgrade their software and assign codes to existing GIS datasets for the surface hydrology features of Cambodia as digitized from the 1:50,000 scale topographic maps of the country.
